Our Story
Woodworking & Laser Engraving
What started as a hobby quickly turned into a passion. The name Crown Mountain Woodworks was first established in 2013 while driving back from southern Utah with my wife, Cassidy. Cassidy and I met at North Georgia College & State University, now known as the University of North Georgia. In that town, Crown Mountain overlooks the campus. Our last name also loosely translates to Crown Mountain. So, running on caffeine and adrenaline and at nearly midnight, I came up with Crown Mountain Woodworks. At the time, I barely had the concept of this turning into a real business, but here I am pursuing that dream.
I grew up watching my dad in the garage with his tools. We built a few things from time to time, but for the most part, it was just a hobby. I didn’t even have an interest at the time. Little did I know that the sawdust in that garage would become my daily obsession.
Since those early days with my Dad, I’ve also found numerous new mentors to look up to and learn from. From Steve Ramsey, Jimmy Diresta, Bob Claggett, David Picciuto, and Laura Kampf, I’ve found endless inspiration. I don’t have any plans to start producing online content right now, but who knows… maybe that time will come too.
